Deciding on a Contractor

Qualities of Experience and Leadership

A contractor is a person who performs work for a specified price (and usually within a specified time period) on a building or repair project (be it for a home or for larger things such as office buildings.)

There are many kinds of specialized contractors including electrical contractors, heating system contractors, and plumbing contractors.

As general contractors, Cahoon Construction manages a number of trades which contribute to the overall project and, depending on the situation, Cahoon subcontracts specific parts of our projects to qualified specialists (to a plumbing contractor, for example.) As a responsible general contractor we have a solid working knowledge of all aspects of any given project including and especially making sure that all workers are functioning together well and that the project is coming together meeting all laws and regulations and within agreed upon budgets.

Because we also have considerable business acumen we are also able to deliver a  knowledge of the hands-on trades involved in our projects. This vital knowledge includes knowing how to manage personnel, budgets, and the fine art of making competitive (and achievable) bids for projects. As a general contractor we are able to keep the business side in sharp focus while not losing sight of the physical demands and needs of those projects.
